Quality Technician
Job Number: #2017-27
Location: St. Paul, MN

EnteroMedics is looking for a Quality Technician to work across the following cross-functional areas: operations, quality, product development and field personnel. The key responsibilities include; Inspection of new product and components, Component maintenance as required to support customer shipments, Supplier yield analysis and trending and Electrical and mechanical failure analysis on returned products. These key responsibilities will be performed following released processes with final review and sign-off by EnteroMedics quality organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Inspection of components and assemblies visually and using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, scopes, etc.

  • Perform routine maintenance of components as required

  • Performing failure analysis of field returned product (require electrical, firmware, and mechanical expertise)

  • Perform electrical and mechanical tests using bench and automated equipment

  • Develop written test and inspection procedures (final sign-off by EMI quality)

  • Generate data and trend analysis of production yield and product failures

  • Support returned goods and issue/complaint processes

  • Support issue/complaint investigation resolutions

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 year technical degree

  • 5+ years Medical Device experience related to this position.

  • Experience working with Medical products consisting of integrated mechanical, electronic.

  • Material review and inspection to specifications

  • Soldering skills and the ability to use small handheld tools

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Data analysis experience using Excel, Access

  • Familiarity with GMP and ISO processes

  • Familiarity with medical device inspection, return and complaint processes

  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision

The following skills are desired, but not required:

  • Active implantable device experience

  • LabView test system use

  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

  • Experience with manufacturing processes including assembly and PCA manufacturing.

  • Reliability engineering experience.
